Project 8: Live Performance (RUS104 Performance & Awards Night 2013)

The last studio project for this sem.
Finally, studio RUS104 come to the end.
The performance night is the last project for us.
We need to prepare a 10 minutes performance, whatever you want to do.
The theme is 'The Lost Kingdom' for this sem performance.
Our quantity surveying represented 'Majapahit'.
We also need to prepare the costume for ourselves and to present the 'Majapahit'.
Our main colour is red.

And great to say that we got the best costume for that award night!!!
Actually we just bought some clothes from 'Kamdar' and DIY for ourselves by using the 'pin'.
It was a wonderful and beautiful night for us.
We really cannot forget it.
We had no sleep for one night to prepare our dance performance.
That was a suffering time for me.
Anyway really thanks to our dance tutor Jerry who was teaching us without any repay.
That few days I really get closer and closer with my QS family.
I really enjoyed the time with all of them.
We still have 2 and half years to go, fighting!!!

Project 7: Exhibition (RUS104 XZBITION 2013)

We are going to form a group with same major friends and make a booth to exhibit our previous projects. My major is quantity surveying.
So, I am going to have a great time with my lovely course mates.
We have 3 days only to decorate our booth.
We had no sleep at all for 2 nights.
It was the best memories for me even it was so tough.
Your brain and body are totally separate when you have no sleep at all.
The theme for this exhibition is 'floating lines'.

We were trying to do a big sculpture but it was failure but it was a best tried and experience for us.

Project 6: Integrated Project: Design & Build 'AN AMPHITHEATRE STAGE'

This project is a 'big' and a long long journey project...
because it is including 3 tasks in 1 project, there are:

Project 6a: Amphitheatre Stage Design
Project 6b: Project Report (Progress Report & Design Proposal Report)
Project 6c: Physical Scale Model

By the way, we have 16 members in a group and each 2 or 3 of them come from different majors.
Therefore, we have architect, interior design, construction management, urban planning, building technology, building surveying and quantity surveying in one group.
We have 6 weeks to complete this project.

Finally we have done our presentation drawings, and the first time I stayed overnight at the studio with my lovely group mates.
Key Plan(NTS), Site Plan(NTS), Site Inventory(NTS), Site Plan(1:100 scale)
Floor Plan(1:100 scale), Bubble Diagrams, Conceptual Design sketches, Elevations(1:50 scale)
Sections drawings(1:50 scale), 3 Details Structural Joints(1:20 scale), Perspective Drawings

After finishing project 6a and 6b, we have a short time to relax, take a breath and enjoy our first academic Langkawi trip!!!
......
After 3 days 2 nights Langkawi trip, we are back to reality to continue our project 6c,
Physical Scale Model (1:5 scale)
We have only 2 weeks to build a model stage used by timber. My position is to survey the price of materials and equipments. So, we decided to use the plywood, basal wood, some normal wood and perspex for our model stage.

Project 5: Sense Of Place: Neighbourhood and Community

This is a unforgettable project.

It let me to stay up almost 3 or 4 nights to finish it.

Finally I feel what called HBP life. 'Hantu Balik Pagi'=HBP

And suddenly I feel that how small is the A3 size cartridge paper.

We need to observe, think, sketch, colour, write and render in once.

This is new challenge for us.

But,

I still learned a lot from this project.

Now, I know that how to draw a site plan, location plan, key plan.

I know that how to use a tracing paper.

I know that the elements and components of a neighbourhood planning.

You will feel that impossible you can finish it when you done it.

This is amazing.

Project 5b: Neighbourhood Elements: Proposed Improvement

Project 4: Presentation Drawings

We had 2 weeks to complete our project 4. It was because of the 5 days holiday.
Therefore we have no need to rush for doing this project.
We have learned how to draw the axonometric drawing and  perspective drawing.
I just know that what is axonometric and perspective this time.
I have learned a lot knowledges about the drawing from this project.

Project3b: Objects Connection: A ComforTABLE Chair

This was the first project in group. 3 person in one group. My group mates were yenling and mingheng. We are from quantity surveying. We needed to produce a wooden L-shape seating object that combines a table and chair(s). The theme of this L-shape seating is 'UNITY'. Among our L-shape seating will choose one to built near the HBP pond-waterfall.

This is our first product for the whole L-shape seating. The beach chair.

We combined two beach chairs together by attached a small table between them.

This is another side of the L-shape seating. This is Japanese style long chair to bring the feeling of Zen.

That is our final product. The name is Le' Zenzii.

Project 3a: Object Creation: A Free-Form Sculpture

Project 3a needed to complete it before Pimpi Siswa. So, we had 4 days only to finish it. It was a challenge for all of us.Finally, we did it!

The theme of sculpture is 'harmony'. The sculpture can be made from any materials.

That's my sculpture

My concept is natural. My sculpture is represented by a tree and some books in the middle. The materials I used are cardboard and newspapers only. It was simple and easy to make it. Why I chosen the recycled materials? It is because I want to bring out the message is culture of reading and the important of tree.
